Nelly Akerman Singer graduated from the Universidad Central de Venezuela with a Licenciado en Biologia. In addition Nelly did postgraduate studies at York University where she finished a Master of Science. Subsequently Nelly worked in research at the faculty of Medicine of the University of Toronto and did volunteer work at the Sick Children’s Hospital and at the Royal Ontario Museum. Nelly has participated in several exhibitions with the Gallery 44 and with the Latin Canadian Cultural Association.
Nelly then enrolled in the Ontario College of Art and Design where she decided to “explore the other half of the brain–the creative side” by taking a Bachelor of Art Major in Photography.
Nelly’s subjects in Photography are very wide: From Archeology to children to Holocaust related issues.
